HISTORY

 

Crash&Annie grew out of a 1996 collaboration among colleagues. Jamie Abbott brought a background in theatre, filmmaking, and video production, Kevin Smith (who sadly lost a recent fight with cancer) added years of experience in live event production and computer tech, and Shelby Bush gave the fledgling company extensive radio and audio production skills. All three were also experienced photographers. The digital revolution was just beginning, and Crash&Annie became the first fully digital production house in North Florida, shooting on the then-new Panasonic AJD-700 and doing editing and post work on PowerMac 8500s. 

 

Very few people were aware at that time of the quality of work that could be done digitally, and C&A struggled to gain clients in a world dominated by BetaSP. Shelby and Kevin moved on, Shelby to South Florida and Kevin to Florida’s State Emergency Response Team. Jamie stuck with Crash&Annie, and continued to upgrade both the equipment and his capabilities. Eventually C&A became what it is today: a professional video production house collaborating with a team of experienced personnel to provide HD production services for a wide variety of clients from movie projects, sports, and corporate productions to educational and public service videos. 

 

And with incredible gear like Panasonic digital cameras and custom Cinema lens mounts from HotRod Cameras, gimbal systems, and drones, anything is possible!

RATES

 

Many variables go into determining the total cost of any given video production. How long is the shoot? (Weekly or monthly rates are less than daily.) Do you need specialty lighting or equipment? (If we have to rent a piece of gear, that will be more expensive than if we have it in stock.) Are you shooting for the internet or for cinema release? (Web productions do not always need the same level of production that a movie or commercial does. But sometimes they do!) 

 

It is like building a house. There is no one answer to the question “how much does a house cost?” The numbers below will give you a starting point for planning your budget, but keep in mind that the amounts may increase or decrease depending on exact circumstances:
